Before submitting a manuscript to N-RELIVE (Journal of Natural Resources, Environment, and Sustainable Livelihood), authors must carefully read and follow the guidelines below:


A. General Requirements

  1. Language
    Manuscripts must be written in English with clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.

  2. Length of Manuscript
    The manuscript should be 6 to 12 pages in length. Manuscripts exceeding 12 pages may be considered based on editorial review and content justification.

  3. Reference Management
    Authors are required to use a reference management tool such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote and adopt the APA 7th edition citation style.

  4. Template and Declarations
    Manuscripts must follow the official N-RELIVE manuscript template. Authors must also submit a signed Author Declaration Form as a supplementary file.

  5. Map Usage (If Applicable)
    If your manuscript includes maps, please refer to the [Map Submission Guidelines] to ensure proper formatting and attribution.

  6. Scientific Merit
    Submissions must:

    • Provide a valuable contribution to knowledge in the fields of natural resources, environment, and sustainable livelihood.

    • Use sound methodology, clearly described to ensure reproducibility.

    • Present data-supported conclusions.

    • Be well-structured, logically written, and easy to understand.


B. Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts are suggested to follow this structure:

  1. Title

    • Maximum 10 words

    • Avoid acronyms or abbreviations

  2. Abstract

    • 150–250 words

    • No citations

    • Must include: Objective, research design, methodology, key results, and conclusion

  3. Keywords

    • 3 to 6 keywords, alphabetically ordered

  4. Main Body Sections

    • Introduction

    • Materials and Methods

    • Results

    • Discussion

    • Acknowledgements (optional)

    • Conclusion

  5. References

    • Use only original sources; avoid citing from secondary sources ("citation in citation").

    • Preferably cite reputable international peer-reviewed journals with DOIs.

    • Avoid referencing local-language sources unless absolutely necessary.

    • References must be traceable online; private collections are not accepted.

    • Use references published within the last 10 years (older references are allowed only if justified and limited to 10% of the total).

    • Include at least 15 references, with 80% from journal articles.

    • Format references using APA 7th edition.

  6. Formatting

    • Manuscript must be typed in a single-column layout.

    • Use the journal’s official template.


C. Types of Paper

  1. Original Research Articles
    Full-length articles presenting original research results. The work must not have been published elsewhere.

  2. Review Articles
    These offer comprehensive, critical summaries of recent developments in a particular research area. Reviews must provide original insight, not just a literature summary. Authors are encouraged to consult the editors before submitting review papers.

  3. Short Communications
    Short papers presenting preliminary or concise findings of significant interest.

    • Maximum 1,500 words

    • Up to 2 figures/tables

    • Up to 15 references

    • Should not exceed 3 printed pages, including all components

    • Requires: Title, abstract, keywords, main body (no subheadings), references
